Mostly the arousals by parasomnia happen when a person is not fully asleep or full awake and is in most cases just wakening up from a deep dream.

In most cases parasomnia runs in the family history. This is how parasomnia is forwarded down to children. Sometimes parasomnia happens simply because a person is too tired. There have also been some cases in which parasomnia happens when a person is really sick with high fever or taking some drugs that have parasomnia has their side effect. But parasomnia is the least common in adults so when it happens it’s important that you do get yourself checked. There are other conditions that also trigger parasomnia like heartburn, sleep apnea, or even periodic limb movement while a person is sleeping.

Sleep walking can get dangerous as well. There have been a lot of cases of parasomnia in which people start sleep walking in the middle of the night and end up crossing the road and getting run over by a car.
