Parenchyma is the medical term used to describe those tissues that characterize an organ as opposed to those tissues which are providing supporting or connective function. It basically related to the functioning of any organ. Its purpose is to infiltrate all the abnormalities that may enter the tissue like cancer cells, calcium, fat, blood, starch or magnesium. The parenchymal disease defines all those diseases that relate to the kidney. The parenchymal disease involves impairment of the kidney in which case the body is unable to control the level of sodium which then results in more water retention. Therefore, parenchymal disease causes hypertension. In such cases, patients suffering from parenchymal disease are unable to respond to any blood – pressure lowering medications. To detect the parenchymal disease a full investigation is carried out on the patient for any signs of the prominent symptoms that cause parenchymal disease. Tests for detecting parenchymal disease involve taking blood samples for testing, getting X rays of the chest, taking a pulmonary function testing or going for a high resolution CT thorax. All these tests help doctors in detecting any signs of the parenchymal disease in the patient. If these tests are unable to give a clear picture to the doctors, they may go for a lung biopsy to detect parenchymal disease. Once the parenchymal disease is detected treatment begins. The treatment for parenchymal disease varies from one person to another. It depends on the cause of the parenchymal disease.
