Sleep Apnoea Syndrome is a condition that generally is unknown to the person that is suffering from it. This is because those who suffer from it are usually asleep at the time that it occurs. To be specific, this condition occurs when you sleep and your throat area gets blocked. Usually it is the walls of your throat that come together and result in the blockage. When this happens, you do not breathe so well and therefore the brain senses this condition and prompts you to wake up. When you wake up the blockage opens up and you fall asleep instantly, this kind of process may take place all night long and you would never even know it. When you wake up in the morning, you will generally feel lazy and you may also suffer other complications like falling asleep frequently during the day, and general tiredness. Because of the frequent waking up that took place at night, your brain may also be affected and you may not be able to focus on some issues that may require the brain power.
Sleep Apnoea is not similar in every person that suffers from it. Generally in some people it takes a longer time or it has a much higher frequency. What this means is that in some people the breathing stops several times in the night while in others it takes place very few times. If your frequency is very high then it is more likely that you will have more problems during the day, but if you wake up a few times, then you may not have so many problems during the day. That is generally how the severity of the condition is measured.
Sleep Apnoea Syndrome may affect just about anybody but is more commonly reported among people who are over thirty years of age. This condition is more commonly reported among men than in women. Some of the traffic accidents that take place are usually blamed on this condition. People who suffer from this condition are also likely to have a heart attack and high blood pressure.
