The victim will be likely feeling confused, because the paramedics, the police and also the social workers will see her and this will make her feel very bad. You, as a nurse, will have the role of an educator and you will need to calm the victim down and make sure that she is feeling comfortable.
Most of the times you will deal with children and women who have been abused by their husbands.
If you want to get into this field, you will need to get yourself specialized in forensic training or have a specialization or a Master’s degree in a field that is related to it. You will be able to find these programs either in your local colleges and universities or you will be able to get them online. Make sure that you will review the websites and universities where you will get such studies from.
As a forensic nurse you will have a lot of employers. Some of the places where you can expect to work are psychiatric facilities, medical examiner’s offices, correctional institutes, insurance companies and so on.
